Artist's Statement
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. After living in San Francisco for over 11 years I moved to Los Angeles with my husband and have lived in the South Bay since 1996. I became a stay at home mom raising three children. It may seem like I am an artist who never really planned on a life in art.

I have, however, been passionate about art from an early age. As a young adult I took many college level art courses in my spare time. But as time passed, I found less time to invest in creative endeavors and put art aside for many years. As my kids grew I found myself painting with them and I was reconnected with my creative spirit. My love for artistic expression was rekindled and I began taking oil, watercolor and pastel painting classes whenever I could as well as ceramics. I consider myself a "self taught" artist with many sources of inspiration. Over the years I have developed confidence in my talent and style. I feel blessed to be able to do what I love to do.

My other passion is teaching children about art and helping them feel free to create. I have devoted much of my time to creating art projects for South Bay art programs. I also taught Junior High Art at American Martyrs School in Manhattan Beach and teach private lessons in my home.
